Anyone who has eaten pistachios in front of the television knows the routine: one bowl of nuts, no bowl for the shells, and a growing pile on the arm of the sofa. This is a single low-profile bowl with a large compartment for the snack and a smaller recessed one for what's left over, so the shells go somewhere the moment they come off instead of accumulating in your hand.

It works the same way for peanuts, sunflower seeds, edamame, olives with pits, cherries, crab legs, and wrapped sweets — anything where half of what you pick up isn't going in your mouth.

The form is faceted and low-poly, angular rather than round, so at 7.3 inches across it holds its own as an object on a coffee table between uses. Matte finish, wide stable base, no gloss.

About using it with food

Like all 3D printed items, this bowl isn't certified food-contact safe — the fine layer lines that give it its texture can hold onto residue in a way glazed ceramic doesn't. It's made for dry snacks that come in a shell, a pod, or a wrapper, which is the overwhelming majority of what a bowl like this gets used for.

Hand wash in warm soapy water and dry it. Don't put it in the dishwasher, don't use it for wet or oily food, and don't leave food sitting in it overnight.
