Fold the top of the bag over and slide the clip on from the side. No hinge, no spring, nothing to snap off. It grips by tension alone, which is why it still works a year from now.
The jaw is deliberately narrow and long — it lays a 1.6 inch seal across the fold while taking up very little depth down the front of the bag. That matters on tall, skinny packaging: coffee pouches, spice bags, seed packets, tea, protein powder sachets, anything standing in a crowded pantry row where a wide clip would knock the neighbours over.
It's also the one that disappears into a drawer. Eight of them take up less space than a single binder clip caddy.

How to use it
Press the air out, fold the bag top over once or twice, and slide the clip onto the fold from the side. It isn't hinged and doesn't open — don't try to pry it. Slide on, slide off.
