A desk cup that looks like it came from a homewares shop, not an office supplier.

Tall, open, and printed in an interlaced lattice that reads as woven bamboo or rattan. It holds what a pencil cup holds — pens, pencils, markers, highlighters, scissors, rulers, paintbrushes, makeup brushes, knitting needles, chopsticks — while looking like a considered object rather than a plastic tube.

At 4.3 inches it's tall enough that pens stand upright instead of splaying, and the flat base is wide and solid, so it doesn't tip when you pull a pair of scissors out in a hurry.

The open weave means you can see what's in there from the side. Matte finish, warm neutral color, no gloss — it takes shadow well and sits comfortably next to wood, ceramic, and paper.

Care: Dust with a dry brush — the lattice holds dust the way real rattan does. Wipe with a barely damp cloth if needed. Don't soak it, and keep it out of long stretches of direct sun.
Note: The weave is open by design. Very small items — paperclips, pins, loose leads — can slip through the gaps, so keep those in something closed.
